HILLSDALE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A surge of activity is set to unfold in the skies and on the ground next week at Hillsdale Municipal Airport and the surrounding areas.

The Michigan Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, a United States Air Force auxiliary, will host a search and rescue training exercise on April 12.

Participants will receive training in aviation crash response and search and rescue operations.

Civil Air Patrol volunteers conduct 90% of inland search-and-rescue missions in the United States. Members have been instrumental in helping find missing children and adults. In addition, members deliver humanitarian aid and respond to natural disasters like floods and tornadoes.
