OSCODA COUNTY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – After a wildfire forced the evacuation of residents near in Oscoda County on Monday, officials reported that the fire is now 80% contained and residents can return to their homes.

The Oscoda County Sheriff’s Department said emergency personnel will remain on scene and continue operations until the fire is fully controlled.

In addition, officials say non-residents should avoid the area as fire crews continue to work.

The Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office expressed its appreciation to the community. “We thank everyone for their cooperation and patience during this incident,” the post said.
