LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) –  The Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) has retained its “Gold” status for the third straight year.

Morningstar Inc.’s annual ratings of 529 college savings plans lists gold, silver, and bronze earners, with the Great Lakes State earning the top spot again.

Morningstar analyzed 54 education savings plans in 2022. MESP was one of two to earn a “Gold” rating, and the plan was praised for its “excellent stewardship” and “well-designed, low-cost offerings,” according to a press release from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s office.
